Today's Doctor Appointment

Not much change today. Dialation and Effacement were still the same as last time. Kevin, Jr. did drop from a -3 to a -1, but otherwise things were the same. Doc was a little concerned about Dawna's blood pressure. It was a little high, but Dawna did have a little cold.

One thing that I am sure will help is taking the kids home with me this next week. Dawna won't have to be yelling and chasing them around. That'll be grandma's job. Oh, and I guess I'll help out a little. :-)

One week down.

Well, I am now back in San Antonio with my girls again. As I type this, Kiera and Kaylee are climbing all over me. It's quite obvious that they missed thier daddy!!! (Kinda makes the heart warm!)

The good news is that I managed to get our home completely ready for the new kid. Took me a while to clean it top to bottom, but it was worth it. Looks good. Smells good. Is organized. I know it will only last until I get the kids home on Tuesday, but at least I got to have the satisfaction of getting it looking good.

Dawna is still about the same, but we'll know more tomorrow when we have the doctor's appointment.

One thing that is good for us is that the last time I was in S.A., I bought a 10'x10' dog kennel. We no longer will have to board out dogs, so...that means the return trip home after Kevin, Jr. is born will be interesting: three children and three dogs. Luckily my mother-in-law will be heading back with us. She has a really big SUV. Don't know where you stand on global warming, but I'm particularly thankful she's got the big, ol' gas guzzler. Between that and our mini-van, I know two things: we're the ultra enemy of those desiring to save the world through higher milage cars, but I know that we'll at least have enough room to get everyone there! (I'll deal with the animosity.)

Until tomorrow!!

It's starting to happen!

Holy Cow!

Dawna just called me and had me look up a "yellow" mucous discharge. We all knew about the mucous plug thing, but when it happens, I guess you aren't quite ready for it.

According to the books, we could still be a week or two away, but this shindig is really getting started.

Gotta get this dang house clean!!!

Still Waiting

Well, I'm officially batchin' it right now. So far I haven't burned down the house, had a party with questionable guests, or starved. Good start for me.

The reality is that I am taking quite a bit of time after work to clean up, organize, and prepare for three kids. All those little projects that have been discussed are getting done because I have a feeling that there won't be much time for even little things once Kevin, Jr. comes home with his sisters. I told Dawna that she wouldn't recognize the house when she got home, and I hope that comes to fruition--in a good manner.

Nothing huge of note on the labor and delivery part yet. Dawna tells me that her Braxton-Hicks "contractions" are getting a little more regular (especially after eating Mexican food), but other than that, not much is happening.

The girls are doing well at Nona and Grumpy's house. We were blessed by a couple of the members of the congregation here at Cat Spring who gave us some high quality webcams so that we could video call over the www. That has been a huge blessing. Kiera and Kaylee can see daddy, and daddy can see all of his girls-including mommy. (Good thing the webcam has a wide angle lens.)

Countdown Begins!

Today, Dawna had her 36 week appointment. After examination, she was dialated 1-2 cm, was 75% effaced, and was a -3. For those of you who don't know the terminology, it basically means the process is beginning. Any bets on how long Kevin, Jr. is going to take to get here?

My mom already said she gives it a week. Who knows?

Easter Sunday

It was a good Easter in the Haug household. It was busy, but good.

The day started off way too early since I had to get up and lead a 7:00 a.m. worship service at the church. I'm famous for saying that when I have to do this, I'm getting up earlier than God. Sacriligious, I know, but it usually gets a laugh out of the congregation.

The kiddoes arrived at church at 8 for a yummy Easter breakfast that the men of the church put on. The congregation is great with all of the kids. They provided so many Easter eggs that the church playground looked unbelievably colorful. Kiera and Kaylee had baskets full of eggs.

I managed to actually get the two to stand still for an Easter picture.

After church, we packed up the car and headed to San Antonio. Most of Dawna's folks were meeting at her Granny's house, and Dawna really wanted to be there this Easter. Usually, the pregnant lady gets what she wants. This time she did. Granny's had quite a few ups and downs recently, and this might be one of the last chances we get to spend this time with her. When the opportunity presented itself, we took it.

The trip to San Antonio also had another purpose. We have officially moved Dawna to San Antonio to be closer to the doctor for when Kevin, Jr. decides he's had enough time indoors and decides to head out into the world. I'll be running back and forth from Cat Spring to San Antonio at various times during the weeks ahead. I already told Dawna when she gets the "nesting" response to call me because, I'm coming in regardless of where I am at or what's going on.

For those interested, check back at this blog for details of how things are going in the process.

Gonna Try This Stuff

One of our friends suggested that we start a blog to help everyone keep up with the goings on of our family. The only problem that I forsee with such a thing is that we're shortly going to welcome Kevin, Jr. into our fold. That might prove a little interesting in keeping up with posting the goings on of the Haug clan.

Yet, perhaps we will attempt this venture anyway. Perhaps we might be able to write a thing or two about life in Cat Spring, Texas that might prove interesting to one or two people in the world. Who knows?

Look for a few updates in the near future!
