Tree Farm Field Trip

This past Friday, Kiera's preschool class took a field trip to a local Christmas Tree farm. They had been scheduled for Thursday, but due to rain, they had to cancel it. Therefore, I actually got to go with Dawna, Kiera, and Junior to the farm.

The weather was absolutely perfect, and all we really had to endure was a little bit of mud as we arrived.

After touring the Christmas Wreath making facility, it was load 'em up to take a tractor drive around the farm.

We snuggled together to enjoy looking at all the trees.

I personally didn't know that they raise a tree four years before allowing folks to cut them down. This, of course, requires a goodly acreage to make sure you have plenty of trees from year to year.

After finishing the big tractor ride, the kids got a chance to take a little train ride. Dawna was the only adult that got to ride, but that was because there was no way Junior would have stayed in the car.

After finishing the train ride, it was off to The North Pole for storytime, hot chocolate and cookies...

Each kid was given a cookie, a blob of icing, and a plastic knife. Luckily, there weren't any accidents.

After eating and drinking, it was off to find the magic Christmas Tree that grew candy canes.

And, of course, sugar loaded kids had to exert some of that energy.

Next year, it will be Kaylee's turn. I hope she enjoys it as much as Kiera did.
