It's the Most Wonderful Time...

What a day. First it started out with a weather forecast for snow. The earliest snowfall recorded for the Houston area. Turns out, there wasn't much too it, but it was still snow.

As I said, accumulation wasn't much. Here's the extent:

Oh well. Maybe later this year or early next year we might get a snowfall the kids can actually play in.

We had to keep Kaylee home from school today. She's got a cough to beat the band--a product of allergies. No fever.

We dropped Kiera off and proceeded to drive through the snow flurries to Brenham do so some Christmas shopping. After stopping in several places, we ended up back in Bellville at a new Indoor/Outdoor Store. While shopping, they informed us that Santa would be stopping in at 11 a.m. to take pictures.

We decided to pick Kiera up from school early and get the family portrait taken. Unfortunately, this company didn't have the digital disk thing, so everyone will have to wait until we get stuff in. Sorry.

But homeward we headed, but first a stop at Crossroads for lunch. We enjoyed eating Bonnie's hamburgers, turkey sandwiches, and cheese sandwiches gathered around a wood burning stove with snow falling outside. Eat your heart out Norman Rockwell.

After naptime and supper, it was time to make some cookies. We are intentionally working to reduce the t.v. time our kids experience, so that means more family interactions like the following:

The cookies were delicious. Eaten with a cup of hot chocolate, it made a great end for a great day.
