Back Home and....

SICK!!

Yep. Kaylee's virus apparently liked the rest of the hosts in this family, because EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US got this cotton-pickin' virus.

It's a nasty sort of buggar that coats your vocal chords and rests in your chest. For the girls, it's been rather nightmarish. They are fine for 45 minutes to an hour or so, and then the coughing fit hits. It doesn't end until something comes up, which at first, was whatever was in their stomachs. Kiera's been a good sport, I taught her how to hock a lugy (don't worry, I didn't take pictures), and since then, no more vomiting. Kaylee, however, doesn't seem to want to listen to her mom and dad's instructions. Of all the kids, Kevin seems to be handling the drainage best. He still coughs from time to time, but nothing like the girls.

What is fun is dealing with sick kids when you are sick too. That's been the most interesting aspect of the whole ordeal. Luckily, Dawna and I have been spared the worst, and it seems like we are coming out on the end of it.

Now, I have to give a shout out to my sister who feels terribly guilty that we came down with this nastiness when we came up to visit her. Don't worry, sis. As Dad told me when he gave us advice about whether or not to come see you (when y'all might have gotten H1N1), "Sh-t happens. If you're gonna get sick. You're gonna get sick."

Well, guess what, Dad. It happens.
